About Danube Properties

Danube Group was founded in Dubai in 1993 by Rizwan Sajan as a small trading company for building materials. From a single store in Deira it grew into a group headquartered in Dubai, operating in 9 countries across the Middle East and Asia with more than 3,500 staff. Its businesses include Danube Building Materials, the Danube Home furniture chain and Alucopanel, a façade cladding panel manufacturer.

The group entered real estate in June 2014 with Danube Properties. Its focus is affordable residential towers in established communities such as Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Furjan, Arjan, International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis. Project names are easy to recognise — most end in “z”: Glitz, Starz, Elitz, Gemz, Oasiz, Diamondz, Sparklz.

Danube is best known for its 1% payment plan: after a down payment of around 20%, buyers pay 1% of the price per month during construction, and the balance is collected once the building is ready. The plan made off-plan purchases in Dubai accessible to a wide range of investors and end-users.

Recent landmark launches include Bayz 101 in Business Bay — a 101-level tower with 1,346 homes scheduled for completion in 2028 — and Sportz in Dubai Sports City, a 39-floor tower with 1,100 apartments. Danube's completed projects include Eleganz in JVC with 259 apartments and townhouses, as well as Glitz, Starz, Lawnz, Wavez, Miraclz, Gemz and Opalz.
